6. Doing it to a Tee

"Perfection is our goal, not our expectation."

Consistency is what we are seeking.  Something stable and unchanging amidst an ever changing environment;  something that will hold up even when "the heat is on";  something we can "groove".

The basis of a good feeling swing is good mechanics.  It's very important to be able to feel a good swing; but how do you remember a feeling?   Feelings are constantly changing so having good mechanics is essential to recalling those good feelings.   Especially important is a good full finish for each and every club used.

Doing it to a tee

"To make the shot, make the move"

Rotating the body involves a coordination of movement where both sides of the body (right and left) move simultaneously.   When the body has rotated on balance a certain position is achieved.   Getting to know this position each and every time is  tantamount to repetition.  A  good finish position is indicative of a good move.

The Sticky Stuff

Probably the most important factor throughout the move is the constant inclination of the spine angle.  This allows the hands, arms and legs to move freely and naturally around a stable center without having to compensate for any unwanted up or down movements.

Superimposing on a Circle

The spine creates the axis of the swing and provides the inner most circle.  It becomes the stable center that allows the hand to come full circle around the body fulfilling its own circular path.  In a full finish, the hand is over the shoulder with the club shaft forming a relation to the spine resembling the letter "T".

Tip:

The spine creates the axis of the swing and provides the inner most circle.  It becomes the stable center that allows the hand to come full cicle around the body fulfilling its own circular path.  In a full finish, the hand is over the shoulder with the club shaft forming a relation to the spine resembling the letter "T".
