7. Attainment of a Finish Position

"Everyone can do one thing very well."

Completion of a task requiring a certain amount of expertise creates a feeling of accomplishment and pride.  Proper training and learning takes time and effort,  but time can be minimized and effort maximized, by working with a repeatable swing structure.   Because of muscle memory, something striven for will tend to stay with you.

Self correction is inherent to our nature.  Attention to key or simple central details can bring about the seemingly simple performance of an otherwise complicated movement.  Simplicity is the mark of a sound, knowledgeable move and being able to use ones knowledge is the true sign of understanding.

"There is just one move

for every shot"

The fundamental 'inner' move repeats itself in every complete  swing. Pre-setting the address conditions to regulate the size of the arc creates various sized golf shots from partial to fulll,  from irons to metals (woods).

Flow Motion

Generation of centrifugal force is the secret of good players.  More is accomplished, more efficiently.   Motion cannot be dissected into parts and still retain motion.  Likewise, the golf move is a continuous accelerating motion from address to finish.   The ball is merely in the arc path the clubhead takes as it is swing around the body.  The axial tilt of the swing allows for the blow to be delivered consistently on plane.

Adjustments and Variations

Golf clubs vary in length and loft of the clubhead.   These characteristics account for the difference in distance each club can produce with a similar size stroke.   As the clubs get shorter and more lofted, the need to bend more from the waist is experienced.   Vice versa, as the clubs get longer, the less need to bend from the waist.

Irons are designed to be struck on the downward side of the swing arc.   This imparts a backspin to the ball which allows for greater control of the shot.   Woods, on the other hand, are designed to be struck on the upward side of the swing arc to maximize ball carry and roll.
